Guests staying at Sunnycliffe House are only a stone’s throw from Combesgate Beach, a secluded inlet located between low and mid-tide, and perfect for rock pools. Next door to Combesgate is Barricane Beach, which is famous for cowries and exotic sea shells, which wash up on the shores from the Caribbean. The beach, which is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest is also home to a great café that serves curry in the summer months, which can be enjoyed as the sun sets on the horizon.

If having two small beaches on your doorstep wasn’t enough, the award-winning Woolacombe Beach is just a short stroll along the esplanade. This famous beach attracts families and water-sport enthusiasts from around the world and stretches for more than three miles meaning it is nearly always possible to find a quiet spot even in the peak summer holidays.
